Entry Requirements

High School: The university accepts applicants with a Higher Secondary School Certificate for undergraduate education. We require students to receive at least 70% in a relevant subject and a minimum of 80% or above (75% from the Science Stream).

A Levels: grades ABB, BBB, CCC, and BCD

International Baccalaureate: minimum IB of 27

Postgraduate

Completed a three-year undergraduate degree (pass plus 1-year master at 50% GPA) or four-year undergraduate degree (50% in Engineering or Science subjects, 55% in other subjects)

English Language Requirements

IELTS: 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in all components or equivalent
TOEFL: 80: With minimum subscores of 20

Postgraduate

IELTS: 6.5 with no component below 6.0
TOEFL: 88: With minimum subscores of 21

Lord Paul Undergraduate Excellence Scholarship

As a student of the University of Wolverhampton, you could be eligible for the Lord Paul Undergraduate Excellence Scholarship.

Value

1,000 for meeting our minimum requirements for admission to your preferred undergraduate program for each year of study.
1,500 for each year of study in which the student earns at least a BBB at the A Level or its equivalent.
2,000 for each year of education in which you earn at least an ABB at the A Level or its equivalent.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Recipients of any Lord Paul Excellence Scholarship are ineligible for other bursaries, scholarships, or reductions.

2. Applicants must have an offer to enroll in the University of Wolverhampton’s full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught program for 2023–2024.

3. Scholarships are not transferable and are limited to admission in the academic year 2023–2024.

4. Only students who can pay foreign fees are eligible for these awards. 

5. Applicants must be privately sponsored, meaning they must pay their or their family’s tuition.

6. Applicants cannot be the recipients of any other financial awards or scholarships. 

7. Applicants must have been enrolled in the same course or any other degree that led to this award in the past (such as PGDip or DipHE).

How to apply

For this scholarship, a formal application is not necessary.

Lord Paul Postgraduate Excellence Scholarship (First year of study only)

Value

£1,000 for fulfilling the requirements for at least ordinary undergraduate admission
£1,500 for obtaining an undergraduate degree with a minimum of a 2:1 or above
£2,000 for earning at least a first-class undergraduate degree or its equivalent

Eligibility Criteria

1. Recipients of any Lord Paul Excellence Scholarship are ineligible for other bursaries, scholarships, or reductions. 

 2. To enroll in the University of Wolverhampton’s full-time postgraduate taught program for the academic year 2023–2024, applicants must have an offer in hand.

 3. Scholarships are not transferable and are limited to admission in the academic year 2023–2024. 

 4. Only students willing to pay foreign fees are eligible for these awards.

5. Candidates must be privately supported, meaning they must pay their or their family’s tuition. 

 6. Candidates cannot be receiving any other financial aid or scholarships.

 7. Candidates must have been enrolled in a different course or any other course that led to this award in the past (e.g., PGDip or DipHE).

For this scholarship, a formal application is optional. 

 Global Opportunities Office Regional Awards 

With great pleasure, the University of Wolverhampton announces the Regional Awards from the Global Opportunities Office. Twenty £3,000 annual scholarships are available to students from the following regions:

  1. Sub-Saharan Africa
  2. Middle East and North Africa
  3. East Asia and Pakistan
  4. Europe
  5. The Americas

Eligibility Criteria

1. Students must have an ABB at the A Level or its equivalent. 

 2. Recipients of any Regional Scholarship would not qualify for other bursaries, scholarships, or reductions.

 3. Applicants must have an offer to enroll in the University of Wolverhampton’s full-time undergraduate degree for 2023–2024. 

 4. Scholarships are limited to admission in the school year 2023–2024 and are not transferable. 

 5. Only students who can pay foreign fees are eligible for these awards. 

 6. Applicants must be privately sponsored, meaning they must pay their or their family’s tuition.

 7. Applicants cannot be the recipients of any other financial awards or scholarships. 

 8. Applicants must be enrolled in a different course or any other course that led to this award in the past (e.g., PGDip or DipHE).

How to apply

A 500-word statement outlining how you would benefit from the scholarship and serve as an ambassador for the university must be submitted with your application. The following factors will be taken into account while evaluating each application:

  1. Overall presentation
  2. Originality of thinking
  3. Fluency in concept communication
  4. Evidence of study motivation
  5. Capacity for success and contribution to university life
