The Technical Universities of Germany, or TU9, is a group of educational institutes formed by the largest and most prestigious German technical universities with their headquarters in Berlin. Nine of Germany’s finest technological universities have joined together to form the TU9 Universities Body. The year 2003 witnessed the creation of TU9 in Germany to bring together those German Institutes of Technology founded before 1900. Horst Hippler, who also serves as the president of the University of Karlsruhe, was the chairman and its founder. Formally set up in 2006 as a certified organization at TU Braunschweig. Wolfram Ressel, the director of Stuttgart University, serves as the organization’s present president.

Regarding rankings, the Technical universities in Germany ranking are the most significant. With a great focus on research in technology and science, all these nine universities are ranked among the best 1000 universities worldwide. In addition, the TU9 ranking in Germany places all nine universities in the top 50 German universities list, whereas three appear in the top ten ratings.
